St. Louis, MO
Forest Park (Jefferson Lake & Round Lake)
One of the best urban fishing experiences in Missouri, Forest Park’s lakes are stocked with catfish, sunfish, and trout (seasonally). Cast from grassy banks or stone outcrops with worms, PowerBait, or light lures. It’s peaceful, scenic, and just steps from museums and trails.
Mississippi River (Chain of Rocks Access)
Big water, big fish. This section of the Mississippi north of downtown is known for trophy catfish, drum, and striped bass. Cast near current seams, wing dikes, or bridge pilings using heavy tackle and cut bait. Be prepared—these fish pull hard.

Creve Coeur Lake
A large, scenic lake in west St. Louis County, popular for kayaking, biking, and fishing. Largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, and carp are common catches. Fish early or late near weedy points and drop-offs for the best action.
Suson Park Fishing Lakes
This south county gem features several well-managed fishing lakes stocked with trout, catfish, and panfish. Ideal for kids and families, with easy bank access and picnic spots. Trout fishing is especially good in late fall through early spring.
