Cheyenne, WY
Crystal Reservoir (Curt Gowdy State Park)
This clear, cold lake nestled in the foothills of the Laramie Range offers excellent fishing for rainbow trout, kokanee salmon, and the occasional tiger trout. Fish from shore or by kayak near rocky drop-offs and submerged structure. The scenery is classic Wyoming—pines, boulders, and big sky.
Sloan’s Lake (Lions Park)
Right in the heart of Cheyenne, Sloan’s Lake offers easy-access fishing for stocked trout and panfish. Best fished early or late in the day when the water cools and the surface goes still. Great for families, beginners, or a quick cast during lunch break.

Granite Springs Reservoir
A short drive west, this larger reservoir supplies the city’s water and offers strong trout fishing from boat or bank. Cast toward inlets and dam faces with spinners or PowerBait. Clear, deep water and frequent stocking make it a reliable spot.
Crow Creek (Belvoir Ranch Area)
This seasonal prairie stream west of town flows with runoff and supports wild-feeling fishing for small trout, catfish, and suckers. Conditions vary wildly, but when water is up, the bite is on. Expect solitude, wind, and maybe a pronghorn sighting while you fish.
