Rexburg, Idaho
Teton River (Rexburg Rapids)
The Rexburg Rapids stretch of the Teton River is known for its healthy populations of rainbow and brown trout, as well as feisty smallmouth bass. Wading anglers can work the rapids and deep runs with nymph rigs or light streamers. Early morning and dusk bring prolific mayfly hatches that entice fish to rise along riffle seams. Public access near the city limits makes it perfect for quick after-work sessions or weekend float trips.
Henry’s Lake
Just north of the Montana border, Henry’s Lake is a spring-fed jewel offering lake trout, cutthroat trout, and brook trout in crystal-clear water. Boat or float-tube anglers target structure with spoons, tube jigs, and bait rigs, especially along deep drop-offs and submerged islands. The scenic backdrop of the Continental Divide and abundant wildlife add to the remote trout-fishing experience. Summer and early fall are prime, when kokanee salmon runs also draw big predators.

Warm River (Big Springs Access)
Flowing from the same aquifer that feeds Henry’s Lake, the Warm River maintains year-round warmth and supports stocked and wild rainbow trout. Anglers can wade or drift-fish small nymphs and dry flies in gentle runs and pocket water. The Big Springs access point offers easy parking and riverbank trails under stands of cottonwood and willow. Expect consistent bites even in winter, as the warm spring inputs keep sections ice-free.
Big Springs Creek
Emerging from a powerful volcanic spring, Big Springs Creek is a classic spring creek fishery teeming with wild rainbow and brown trout. Its gin-clear water and uniform gravel bottom create textbook dry-fly opportunities throughout summer. Anglers favor finely tied mayfly and caddis imitations presented gently in slow, riffled runs. The tranquil pine-lined setting and reliable year-round flows make it an iconic spot for both novice and expert fly fishers
