West Jordan, UT
Jordan River Parkway (4800 South Access)
Flowing along West Jordan’s eastern edge, the Jordan River offers urban fishing for channel catfish, carp, and even the occasional bass or trout. Fish near bridge pilings, deeper bends, or log jams with bait or small jigs. The Parkway Trail provides excellent access along both banks.
Midas Creek (South Valley Stretch)
Though narrow and seasonal, Midas Creek flows through neighborhoods and parks, offering light-action fishing for panfish and small trout when water levels are up. It’s best after spring runoff and works well for ultralight spinning or fly gear.

West Jordan City Park Pond (Veterans Memorial Park)
A small community pond regularly stocked with rainbow trout and bluegill, this is a great spot for kids and beginners. Try worms or PowerBait near the aerators or shaded corners. Fishing is usually best in spring and fall shortly after stocking events.
Oquirrh Lake (Daybreak Community)
This man-made lake in the Daybreak development allows limited public fishing in designated areas. Stocked with bluegill, bass, and sometimes trout, it’s a clean, scenic spot for catch-and-release fishing with barbless hooks. Try small crankbaits or soft plastics near reeds and dock pilings.
