Savannah, GA
Lazaretto Creek
A favorite launch point near Tybee Island, Lazaretto offers brackish water fishing for flounder, redfish, and trout. The tides swing big here, and the oyster bars are prime ambush points. Dolphins, shrimp boats, and seabirds round out the scene in classic coastal Georgia style.
Skidaway Narrows (Butterbean Beach)
Where saltwater marsh meets open water, this public access point offers solid bank and kayak fishing for trout, black drum, and sheepshead. The current moves swiftly with each tide, creating perfect feeding lanes along pilings and creek mouths. A great spot for shrimp-tipped jig heads and sunset photos.

Savannah National Wildlife Refuge Canals
These freshwater canals cut through cypress swamps and rice field remnants just north of the city, loaded with bass, crappie, and bowfin. Kayak access lets you sneak into tight, lily-choked lanes where few anglers tread. The water is slow, dark, and still, making it perfect for stealthy casts.
Houlihan Bridge (Savannah River)
Upriver from the port, this deep channel spot sees striped bass, catfish, and the occasional bull red run with the tide. Fish near the pilings from the catwalk or bank, especially when water is moving. The mix of freshwater and salt gives it serious species diversity.
