Ogden, UT
Ogden River (Canyon Stretch – Below Pineview)
This tailwater flows cold and fast through Ogden Canyon, offering excellent fly and spin fishing for brown and rainbow trout. Public access is abundant, and the river is productive year-round—especially with nymphs and small dries. Look for feeding fish in seams and pocket water near the rocks.
Pineview Reservoir (Anderson Cove Area)
Just east of Ogden, Pineview is a go-to spot for smallmouth bass, tiger muskie, black crappie, and catfish. Cast near rocky points or weed beds, especially during early morning calm. Kayaks and boats give access to coves and deeper channels, but shore fishing can be just as hot in spring and fall.

Glassman Pond (West Ogden)
A small urban pond great for quick fishing trips with kids or beginners. Regularly stocked with rainbow trout and occasionally catfish, it’s easy to access and usually productive with PowerBait, worms, or small spinners. Best fished in cooler months after stocking.
Willard Bay Reservoir (North Marina Access)
About 20 minutes northwest of Ogden, this freshwater arm of the Great Salt Lake is home to wiper (white bass/striped bass hybrid), walleye, catfish, and crappie. Fish near rocky dikes and submerged brush with jigs or crankbaits. This spot offers bigger water and bigger fights.
