Mills, WY
North Platte River (Mills Bridge Access)
Just off Wyoming Blvd., this public stretch provides excellent walk-in access to prime tailwater trout water. Rainbows, browns, and the occasional cutthroat take nymphs, streamers, and small dries. Deep runs and structure-rich banks keep anglers busy year-round.
North Platte River (Robertson Road Access)
Downstream from the main bridge, this area offers a slower stretch ideal for beginners and shore anglers. Trout stack in deeper holes and beneath overhangs, especially in spring and fall. Wading is easy and wildlife sightings are common.

Bryan Stock Trail Pond (Casper Area)
Just east of Mills, this small community pond is stocked with rainbow trout and occasionally catfish. It’s ideal for kids, beginners, or a quick after-work cast. Bring bait or small spoons and fish near the aerators or shaded corners.
Alcova Reservoir (45 mins southwest)
Though not in Mills proper, Alcova is the go-to lake for reservoir anglers in the region. Expect rainbow trout, brown trout, and walleye in this wind-swept, rocky setting. Launch a boat or fish from shore near the dam or cliffs.
