Goose Creek, SC
Foster Creek Boat Landing
A classic brackish water launch tucked into a residential neighborhood, Foster Creek connects directly to the Cooper River system. Largemouth bass, bowfin, and redfish cruise the lily-lined edges and submerged logs. The mix of fresh and salt gives this spot its unique species blend.
Goose Creek Reservoir (Westview Boulevard Access)
This peaceful freshwater reservoir is home to quality bass, crappie, and bream. Shoreline access is limited, so small boats and kayaks excel here, especially near submerged brush piles and inflows. It’s a quiet, glassy lake tucked just off the beaten path.

Marrington Plantation Trails (Backwater Access)
Located on the Naval Weapons Station, this public-access area leads to marshy backwaters teeming with panfish and juvenile redfish. The environment is shaded, swampy, and loaded with overhangs—perfect for precision casting. The water here is tannin-rich and tidal, creating ever-changing conditions.
Back River (Bushy Park Extension)
This stretch of the Cooper River system lies just south of Goose Creek and offers deeper water with access to both brackish and salt species like catfish, redfish, and striped bass. Industrial structures mix with natural cover, making it a surprisingly productive urban fishery. Best fished from a small boat or kayak.
