Cary, NC
Bond Lake (Fred G. Bond Metro Park)
This 42-acre lake in the heart of Cary is stocked with catfish and home to largemouth bass and bluegill. Anglers fish from the pier, kayaks, or the gently sloping bank near picnic areas. It’s peaceful, scenic, and perfect for a laid-back day on the water.
Crabtree Creek (North Cary Park Area)
This small creek winds through the greenbelt and holds sunfish, small bass, and the occasional carp. Light tackle or a fly rod is ideal, especially in spring and early summer when fish stack up in the bends. The trailside access makes it a great spot for a quick session.

Lake Crabtree (East Shore Access)
Though technically in nearby Morrisville, this 520-acre lake is a Cary favorite. Fish for bass and crappie around points and submerged brush. Boat access is easy, and the wide open water is perfect for trolling or exploring by kayak.
Thomas Brooks Park Pond
A small, lesser-known pond near the baseball complex, this spot sees light pressure and holds bream, catfish, and the occasional bass. Shaded and easy to reach, it’s ideal for kids or a relaxed afternoon. Try nightcrawlers near the drop-off for quick bites.
