Jackson, WY
Snake River (South Park Bridge Area)
The legendary Snake flows right through the Jackson Valley, home to healthy populations of native Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat trout. This section is perfect for float fishing, but there’s also good wade access near gravel bars and braided channels. Drift dry flies or cast streamers along log jams and undercut banks.
Flat Creek (National Elk Refuge Stretch)
This spring-fed creek is a technical fly-fishing destination known for spooky, trophy-sized cutthroat trout. Best fished from late summer into fall, it offers gin-clear water, slow flows, and challenging presentations. Strict catch-and-release rules apply—this is elite-level dry fly fishing in a surreal landscape.

Jenny Lake (Grand Teton National Park)
A deep, glacial lake nestled beneath the Tetons, Jenny Lake holds lake trout and cutthroat, particularly near drop-offs and inlet streams. Bring a float tube or hike along the lakeshore trail to find casting spots. The views are spectacular, and the fish aren’t bad either.
Pacific Creek
A tributary of the Snake north of Jackson, Pacific Creek offers solitude and reliable fishing for cutthroat trout in a meandering, wooded setting. Best in summer and early fall, it fishes well with small dry flies and attractor patterns. Accessible via dirt roads near Moran Junction.
