Hilton Head, SC
Broad Creek at Shelter Cove
This tidal creek wraps through the island’s heart, home to redfish, flounder, and speckled trout. Fish the dock pilings and grass lines on a moving tide for the best action. It’s accessible by boat or kayak, with plenty of life both above and below the water.
Jarvis Creek Park
A serene inland lagoon surrounded by walking trails, Jarvis Creek is stocked with catfish and also holds bass and bream. It’s freshwater and perfect for casual casting with kids or light tackle. Early morning is best, when the water is glassy and egrets hunt the shoreline.

Fish Haul Beach Park
On the quiet northern end of the island, this wild, undeveloped stretch of shoreline is ideal for surfcasting. Whiting, red drum, and the occasional shark patrol the surf zone here. The beach is wide and rarely crowded—perfect for sunrise fishing with a cooler and sand spike.
Calibogue Sound (Harbour Town Pier Area)
Where the Atlantic meets the Intracoastal, Calibogue Sound delivers some of the island’s best inshore action. Expect redfish, black drum, and even seasonal tarpon in the deeper cuts and along oyster bars. The water here is salty, swift, and full of life—best approached by boat, but also fishable near the pier.
