Gillette, WY
Dalbey Memorial Park (Fishing Lake)
Right in town, this city-stocked pond offers easy access to rainbow trout, channel catfish, and bluegill. It’s a great spot for beginners, families, or a quick session after work. Fish early or late in the day near the aerators and pier for the best bite.
Panther Pond (Panther Park)
A small, quiet pond on Gillette’s south side, Panther Pond is stocked seasonally with trout and often holds sunfish in the shallows. The surrounding park makes it an ideal spot for relaxed, shore-based fishing. Try PowerBait or worms under a bobber in spring and fall.

Keyhole Reservoir (Keyhole State Park)
About 45 minutes northeast, Keyhole Reservoir is a destination-worthy lake known for walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, and crappie. This large, deep body of water is best fished by boat, but there’s plenty of productive shoreline near the marina and points. Expect wind, clear water, and the chance at a trophy catch.
Rawhide Creek (South of Town)
This slow-flowing prairie stream occasionally holds catfish, carp, and seasonal trout depending on flows and access points. Best fished after rains or during spring runoff. Bring patience, light gear, and expect a remote, rough-around-the-edges experience.
