Kleiner Park Pond

McMillan Pond
A neighborhood favorite, McMillan Pond offers a quiet, no-frills fishing experience right in town. It’s stocked with trout in cooler months and holds panfish and small bass through summer. Simple bait rigs near the bank or casting small lures into deeper pockets tend to work well. It’s great for a quick hour or two with minimal gear.

Settlers Park Canal Access
While not a traditional fishing destination, the canals and irrigation ditches running near Settlers Park can hold surprise catches like sunfish, small bass, and even carp. It’s a great spot for ultralight tackle or fly fishing close to home. Access varies by season and water levels, so check flow conditions before heading out.
Boise River (Eagle Greenbelt Area)
Just east of Meridian, the Boise River in Eagle offers exceptional trout fishing and scenic, shaded riverbanks. Rainbow and brown trout are common, especially in cooler weather and spring runoff. Wade fishing is popular, and public access is plentiful along the Greenbelt trail. Use nymphs, dries, or small plugs for best results.
