Little Rock, AR
Arkansas River (Murray Lock and Dam Area)
One of the most productive stretches of the Arkansas River runs right through Little Rock, offering excellent fishing for catfish, white bass, hybrid stripers, and sauger. Cast near current seams, jetties, or below the dam for your best shot at a big bite.
Lake Maumelle
Just west of town, this large drinking water reservoir is a favorite for bass, crappie, and bream anglers. Gas-powered boats are prohibited, so it’s ideal for kayaks and electric motors. Fish deep brush piles, points, and the many coves that ring the lake.

MacArthur Park Pond
This small urban pond is stocked with catfish and trout (seasonally), making it a perfect spot for kids, beginners, or a quick lunchtime cast. Bring worms, dough bait, or spinners for the best results. The downtown skyline adds a unique backdrop.
Fourche Creek (Interstate Park Area)
A hidden gem for warmwater species like bowfin, bass, and sunfish, Fourche Creek winds through a natural wetland corridor south of the city. Fish the slower-moving pools with soft plastics or live bait. It’s off the beaten path and full of surprises.
